The Goodwin Residence

The Goodwin Residence is a single family home located at Place Pontchartrain in Kenner.

The design of this residence was driven by the client’s desire to maximize the home’s views over Lake Pontchartrain while keeping the home from looking like a ‘raised camp’. In order to accommodate the client’s desires, the main living spaces of the home were placed on the second floor. On the first floor, the entry corridor features brick floors, wainscoting on the walls, and brick arches that lead to a big playroom. The ground floor houses two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The playroom opens up to the back patio and bbq area with steps leading to a travertine pool deck. The second floor houses the master bedroom, bathroom and closet, an office space, half bath, kitchen, dining room, and living room. The main living areas are situated along the back of the house and are clad with floor to ceiling windows. A balcony runs the width of the house and is great for dining and entertaining guests. The elevator takes you to a third floor viewing deck where you can sit and look over Lake Pontchartrain under a covered deck area.
